Are you accepting new clients?
Yes, I am accepting new clients. I have day and evening appointments available. To schedule an appointment click on the link on the right. Email is the quickest way to get in touch with me.
What should I do to get started?
You can contact my office by phone or email and we can discuss what you hope to get out of therapy. We will set up our initial session and send you an email for you to complete your forms online. Registering online allows you to take time to fill out the forms as completely as possible, prior to your session. This way you will not need to arrive early to fill out paperwork or use up your session time.
When you arrive you will use the door code to get into Midtown Healing Arts Collective. You will see the waiting room at the end of the hallway from the front door. There are two restrooms on the right, please feel free to utilize one if needed. Your therapist will come get you at your scheduled appointment time.
During your first session we will start to get to know each other and how we can work together. Together we decide the best plan for you.
Is this confidential?
Yes, “what happens is session, stays in session!” However, if you would like your therapist to talk to someone, for example your physician, psychiatrist, etc, then you can sign a release for her to do so. There are also some exceptions to confidentiality, because she is a mandated reporter and required to report child abuse, elder abuse, or if she feels you are a danger to yourself or others. Please read the informed consent for more details or feel free to ask questions for clarification.
Who do you typically see in your private practice?
I work with women who are struggling with anxiety, PTSD and other trauma disorders, depression, stress, self-esteem and relationship problems. I also work with new mothers and mothers who do not have accessible or emotionally available mothers themselves. Just ask if I work with what you are confronting currently, I most likely have experience with the issue and we can create a plan for treatment together.
Do I need counseling/therapy?
I offer a free 15 minute phone consultation to help answer any questions you may have about counseling. Making a decision to go to counseling is not always an easy one and finding someone that is the right fit for you is really important. If we decide that we are not the right fit, I will be happy to make additional referrals for you.
How long are sessions, how often, and how much does it cost?
A 15 minute telephone consultation is FREE! Please contact me to schedule
Individual sessions are 60 minutes and the fee is $160.
Most people begin with weekly sessions but I am very flexible with scheduling according to your needs.
The payment for sessions is set up in your initial paperwork by credit/debit/FSA card. The fee is charged through my practice management system. I will not have access to your credit card information.
If you are unable to attend a session, please make sure you cancel at least 48 hours beforehand. Otherwise, you will be charged for the full rate of the session.
Do you take insurance?
I do not currently take insurance. It is important that you know in many cases insurance requires a mental health diagnosis in order to pay for claims. This is not always appropriate for my patients. Working without insurance increases your privacy and gives you control over your therapy process. I will provide you with a super-bill for payment you can use to seek reimbursement from your insurance company. Not billing for insurance allows me to keep my fees lower, and leaves me more time for doing what I love, seeing my clients.
We are covered as an out of network provider on most PPO Insurance plans and happy to provide you a super-bill at the end of each session, which you can then send to your insurance carrier for reimbursement. Services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan. Please check your coverage carefully to verify specifics of your particular insurance coverage and ask the following questions:
- Do I have mental health benefits?
- What is my deductible and has it been met?
- How many sessions per calendar year does my plan cover?
- How much does my plan cover for an out-of-network provider?
- What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
Any Other Questions?
Please contact me for any additional questions you may have. I look forward to hearing from you!
